Adriana Oliveira

Has been working and studying in the Communications field for more than 17 years.

Master’s degree in Social Communications obtained from Universidade de Sao Paulo (2007, Brazil). Bachelor´s degree in Social Communications, with major in Publicity, from Centro Universitario de Brasília (1992, Brazil); and a second Bachelor´s degree in Information and Communications Sciences, with focus on Culture, from Universite Lumiere de Lyon (1998, France).

Extensive experience in Corporate Communications (External and Internal), Marketing, Public, Government and Press Relations, Human Resources, and Social Corporate Responsibility. Worked at Google, Apae de Sao Paulo, Embraer, Sebrae-SP (Brazilian Support Agency for Small Business), General Motors of Brazil, United Nations Development Programme, University of Sao Paulo, University Anhanguera, Theatre des Jeunes Annees in Lyon, and other important organizations. Volunteer at Brazilian Community in Savannah and Region, responsible for Communications & Public Relations.

Renata Schumann

Has a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Communications with major in Advertising from Centro Universitario de Brasilia UniCeub (Brasilia, Brazil, 1992). Marketing Extension Certificate from University of California Irvine (2002) and another Marketing Certificate from University of California, Berkeley (1994). 

Has been working with Marketing since 1995, with extensive experience in Channel Marketing, Merchandising, corporate and point of purchase (POP) communication materials development. She has also been working as a Portuguese Teacher and occasional translator.

Worked in large companies and important organizations, such as Google, HID, SDI Media (USA), Sharp do Brasil, PANAMCO - Panamerican Beverage Co. (the largest Coca-Cola bottling company in Brazil), and the American Embassy in Brazil. She is a blogger for the Brazilian Community in Orange County, California.

A Brazilian Way

We are Brazilians and friends, and we are passionate about culture differences around the world.

We lived in several countries, in different moments, including Brazil, France, Germany, Japan, Netherlands. We all had academics and professional experiences in important corporations and nonprofit organizations in Brazil and other countries.

We all grew up in Brazil. Nowadays, Adriana Oliveira lives in Savannah, Georgia, USA; Renata Schumman lives in Orange County, California, USA; and Renata Aragao lives in Rio de Janeiro, RJ, Brazil.

We would like to share our academics, professional, and practical knowledge about how things are and happen in Brazil. We would like to share with you the closest portrait we could have.

However, Brazil is a continental country (almost 200 million people living in the fifth largest country in the world) with lots of peculiarities. You can ask one, two, ten, one thousand Brazilians about the same topic, and you will receive different answers and opinions. That is completely normal! Each region, each state, each city, each family can have a different approach of a subject.

So that's why we will share with you A Brazilian Way of thinking, talking, acting, feeling. All posts will be based on our academics, professional, and practical knowledge about Brazilian Culture and Brazilian Etiquette.
